Lt. Gov. Wyman, CT Veterans Hall Of Fame Announce Class Of 2017 Inductees

Gov. Malloy: Connecticut Receives $2.6 Million to Assist State's Efforts In Processing And Testing Of Sexual Assault Kits
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today announced that the State of Connecticut has been awarded two competitive, federal grants worth $2.6 million that will assist in the state’s efforts to improve the processing and testing of sexual assault evidence kits. The grants come to the state as part of the ongoing work of the Governor’s Sexual Assault Kit Working Group, which Governor Malloy formed in 2016 to assist in the standardization and advancement in testing evidence kits by the Connecticut Forensic Science Laboratory.

Lt. Governor Wyman, CT National Guard Celebrate Military Families At Operation Elf Holiday Party
Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman and Major General Thad Martin, Adjutant General of the Connecticut National Guard, today joined military families from across the state at the 16th annual Operation ELF (Embracing Lonely Families) holiday party. Established in 2001, Operation ELF helps lessen the financial stresses facing military families who are called to active duty and are in the deployment cycle.

Gov. Malloy And Lt. Gov. Wyman Announce Anthem And Connecticare Commit To Connecticut's Exchange
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that Anthem and ConnectiCare Benefits, Inc. have committed to participate in Connecticut’s health insurance exchange, Access Health CT, for 2018. Approximately 100,000 Connecticut residents purchase coverage through Access Health CT.

Governor Dannel P. Malloy, Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman, UConn President Susan Herbst, and Connecticut State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) President Mark Ojakian are strongly criticizing a decision announced today by President Trump that he will terminate the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, putting the futures of over 800,000 young people across the country in jeopardy through no fault of their own. They are calling on Congress to take action as soon as possible to reverse this ill-conceived action.

Gov. Malloy: Annual FBI Crime Data Shows Connecticut Saw Largest Decline Of Violent Crime In Nation Over Last Four Years
Governor Dannel P. Malloy today highlighted the release of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) annual state-by-state crime report for the 2016 calendar year, which shows that crime rates continue to decline in Connecticut, which has had the largest reduction in violent crime of any state in the nation over the last four years.

Gov. Malloy and Lt. Gov. Wyman Announce Impact of Graham-Cassidy Healthcare Bill on Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and Lt. Governor Nancy Wyman today announced that according to a new analysis of the impact on Connecticut of the Graham-Cassidy bill – the latest version of Trumpcare – healthcare coverage for tens-of-thousands of the state’s residents could be threatened. Ultimately, as much as $2.2 billion in annual costs would be added to the state at full implementation in 2026, with total costs projected to reach almost $7 billion through fiscal year 2026.

Gov Malloy: Connecticut Students Enrolling In Advanced Placement Courses At Significant Pace
Governor Dannel P. Malloy and State Department of Education Commissioner Dianna R. Wentzell today announced that Connecticut public school students have significantly increased their participation and performance on Advanced Placement (AP) exams, according to results published today by the College Board. The number of students who took at least one AP exam in 2016-17 rose to 28,961, an increase of 4.9 percent from 2015-16.

(HARTFORD, CT) – Governor Dannel P. Malloy this evening signed into law legislation that will protect LGBTQ youth in the state from the destructive and discredited practice of conversion therapy. The so-called treatment, which seeks to change a person’s sexual orientation or gender identity, has been discredited by nearly every credible medical and psychiatric group in the country and oftentimes includes destructive practices that are harmful to children, such as electric shock therapy.
