Gillette Castle State Park

Fees

There are no fees for parking or visiting the park grounds at Gillette Castle State Park.  The park grounds and restrooms are open daily from 8am to sunset year round.  A per person charge applies for castle tours.

Tour tickets are required for all visitors (regardless of age) to enter the castle.  Tours are typically available daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day, held every 15 minutes from 10am-4pm.  Tours accommodate a maximum of 12 visitors every 15 minutes. It is recommended to purchase your tickets in advance to ensure tour availability, especially if you are planning to arrive with a group.  Visitors are asked to be at the castle five minutes before the scheduled tour time.  If purchasing tour tickets on site, we recommend arriving at least ten minutes prior to the scheduled tour time.  We cannot guarantee entry if your tour time has passed.  

2023 Holiday Castle Tour Schedule: 

Saturday & Sunday, December 16th & 17th - SOLD OUT - no additional tickets are available for holiday tours.  

2024 Regular Season Castle Tour Schedule:

Following the 2023 holiday tour program, the Castle will be closed to tours for the remainder of 2023 and will reopen Saturday, May 25th, 2024.

2024 tickets will be available for sale beginning April 1, 2024.  Visitors may purchase castle tour tickets online.  Pending availability, tickets may also be purchased at the visitor center on the day of the tour, however, please note that tickets often sell out in advance for weekend visits.

Tour Ticket Prices:

Adult (13+) - $6.00
Youth (ages 6-12) - $2.00
Children (5 and under) - FREE, but a ticket is still required.

An additional $2 processing fee applies to each transaction for tickets purchased online.    

There is no charge for tickets for children ages 5 and under, or holders of a Heritage Passport, Charter Oak Pass, Library Pass, or Disabled American Veterans' Pass.  However, tour tickets should still be reserved in advance to ensure that space is available as we must adhere to our strict maximum tour capacity of 12 visitors at a time.  

Refund Policy:  
There are no refunds within seven days of a scheduled tour.  
Refunds requested more than seven days in advance of a scheduled tour are eligible for a full refund of the ticket prices minus a $2 processing fee.

Heritage Passport

Heritage Passport allows a family (2 adults and up to 4 children) unlimited admittance to three facilities - Dinosaur, Fort Trumbull and Gillette Castle State Parks.  The Heritage Passport costs $67.00 and can be purchased at any one of the three facilities.
