DEEP first issued the General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from the Connecticut Department of Transportation Separate Storm Sewer Systems (CTDOT MS4) on May 24, 2018 (effective July 1, 2018) under the EPA Stormwater Rule.

The cornerstone of the MS4 permit is the Stormwater Pollution Prevent Plan
This plan outlines a program of best management practices (BMPs), measurable goals, responsible individuals or departments, and sets forth implementation schedules for the following six minimum control measures specified in the permit:

plan to monitor and improve the quality of stormwater
runoff from DOT’s stormwater system to impaired
surface water bodies.

The CTDOT Drainage Network for public viewing includes Culverts, Closed Conveyances, Open Conveyances, Virtual Drian Lines, Inlets, Headwalls/End Walls, Manholes, Blind Ties, Interconnections, Other Drainage, and BMP’s.
